What is conversion tracking? What are conversion
pages?

A conversion occurs when a visitor to your site changes
from a looker into a buyer, usually by making a purchase
on your site. A conversion page is the page where your
visitor lands after submitting a purchase confirmation
form. Typically, text on this page will say something
like “thank you
for your order”, and may provide a confirmation or order number. |

If your site doesn’t accept payments, you can still
benefit from conversion tracking statistics. Choose a small number
of pages that indicate a serious intention on the part
of your visitor. A good example is the confirmation page

“converts” to a lead. |

tracking, you can identify a visitor from your Overture
pay-per-click campaign, even if he came in through MSN
or Yahoo, which receive results from Overture. To define your campaigns in Overture and other PPC accounts, place a source code at
the end of each URL that points to your site. This also
works for banner ads, paid directories, and email
